Azteca has reached an agreement with Real Madrid regarding the creation of line of ceramic tiles for floors and walls which show the Football Club’s official image, including the team shield and a photo of the players.
The ceramics company Azteca and Real Madrid have signed a collaborative agreement regarding the creation and sale of the line of floor and wall tiles showing the Club’s images. The photo of the players and the team shield are just two of the images selected for this impressive, innovative collection, the only one in the world considered an official product and to be sold worldwide.
The official presentation will take place at Cevisama 2012, which is why the centre of the Azteca stand (Pavilion 3 Level 3 Stand B28) has been turned into a football pitch, around which the series created exclusively with the Whites will be displayed. The agreement with Real Madrid is the first of its kind, but we are already working with more teams to create ceramic collections with their images.
The series includes wall tiles in a 30 x 60 format, and floor tiles in up to three different formats. There is a wide range of finishes from matt through to high gloss, and both the team shield and the individual and group photos of the players are shown. The aim is to offer a range of possibilities to attract different customers, not only the habitual clients, but also the teams themselves, or their fan clubs.
“Focusing on innovation has always been the motto at Azteca, right from the word go, that is why this year we wanted to go a little further, thinking that combining all the passion of football with the ceramics sector could be a great idea. The joint effort with Real Madrid is proving to be an incredible experience that we are keen to repeat with the other clubs we are in negotiations with” said Vicente Nomdedeu, the owner of Azteca.
50 years of innovation and responsibility
Azteca is proud to be presenting this latest innovation in its 50th anniversary year. It is a milestone that will be ever-present in our Stand, together with all the other innovations we are taking to Cevisama. Apart from the Real Madrid line, Azteca will be presenting 11 new series, set up in different decorative areas that will be on show at the stand. Among them we will see the series of high gloss marbles for floors: Pulpis 60 and Empire 60, which were enthusiastically received in CERSAIE 2011 and will now be shown in a version suitable for walls. This series in rectified porcelain has a unique 60 x 60 format in up to five colours, which is complemented by an extensive range of decorative pieces to fully personalise the end results.
Azteca is also presenting a wide variety of floor and wall tiles inspired by natural stone. Three of these, Minimal 60, Paris 60 and Lyon 60 complement the 60 x 60 basic pieces with a 30 x 60 format which is new for the company. The three series are in rectified porcelain, with different finishes (natural, dry and lapatto), and come in up to five different colours. The stone series is completed with three more lines, Versus 45 and Concreate 60, both for floors in different formats and colours, and Zement R75, a white paste tile with three formats, offering fantastic versatility.
Another interesting innovation is the timber series Lumber Soft 67, a porcelain tile in four colours, with a matt finish and soft touch for floors and walls, which includes bases and steps. The collection is completed with Galaxy R60 and Unik R90, two white paste wall tiles in a plain colour, with 20 x 60 and 30 x 90 formats respectively. They come in five colours with a gloss or matt finish, along with additional pieces to increase their versatility.
As always, and in accordance with the company’s philosophy, throughout the production process Azteca has taken into account the principles of productive responsibility and sustainability proposed by Green Living by Azteca, the new seal which is testament to the efforts the company has been making every day from its very beginnings to ensure their industrial activity is compatible with the protection of the environment. Just one example of how this works can be seen in the fact that in 2011 alone Azteca reused more that 12000 tonnes of water and 6800 kilos of timber, recycling 500 pallets.
With this innovative collection, headed by the official series of Real Madrid ceramic tiles, Azteca hopes to continue expanding its niche in the market, which 50 years in the business has firmly consolidated. According to sector figures given by ASCER, the 2011 fiscal year was generally stable, with a rise in exports to the detriment of national sales. As for Azteca, the company closed the 2011 fiscal year with a turnover of almost 30 million Euros, and exports remained one of its main lines of business, accounting for 70% of its production. As well as the national market, Azteca products travel to dozens of countries including France, Russia, the UK, Benelux, Poland and the United States. The company is following emerging markets such as India and China very closely and is focusing its efforts in extending its radius of business there.
