The combination possibilities of ceramics are endless. From its multiple formats that can be combined with each other to its different forms of installation, which influence the design and the result.
Do you want to know what effect you will get according to how the ceramic is laid?
Geometric laying patterns for harmonious spaces
To achieve harmonious spaces, we recommend the most used laying method, the horizontal joint. In this case, the tiles are placed in a straight line, being parallel to each other. This joint continuity throughout the space also provides a sense of order.
A variant of the horizontal joint that also provides this sense of harmony is the 50/50 brick pattern installation, known in Spanish as “matajunta”. That is, instead of making all the joints coincide, the tiles are laid alternately. Thus, the joint in the bottom row is in the middle of the upper tile.
Vertical ceramic tiles for larger rooms
To get a higher feeling with wider rooms we recommend the vertical joint. This form of laying is also totally geometric with the difference that the tiles are laid vertically. In addition, if the format of the tile is rectangular, this effect is enhanced.
Laying wood-imitation ceramic tiles to provide naturalness
The most suitable way to lay wood-imitation ceramics and that which offers the greatest feeling of naturalness is the offset brick installation. It is also known as 25/75 offset laying. In this form of installation, the symmetry of the original brick installation is broken. In other words, the vertical joint of the tiles is offset so that only the horizontal joints coincide.
Tile installation for walls with high decorative potential
If your goal is to achieve a room with a high decorative potential, we recommend the installation of ceramic in herringbone or spike. In this case the pieces are placed diagonally alternating one side and the other. With this arrangement, a V-shaped finish is achieved.
Tiles of different formats for original results
If the tiles are triangular or hexagonal in shape, the aesthetic component is more marked by their shape than by the way they are laid.
To enhance the decorative result that these formats already have, we recommend alternating tiles with different finishes and colors. More fashionable than ever.
Combinations of different tiles for rooms with personality
We do not always choose to use the same formats or finishes for the same floor or wall. In this case the combinations with different formats create patterns that provide great expressive and visual richness. This is a good choice to give personality to any room.
